CCRG was created by legislation that requires high schools to provide college developmental math and English to students who do not meet college and career readiness requirements by their junior year of high school. The legislation requires high schools to use curriculum approved by the State Board of Community Colleges. Community colleges provide professional development for the high school faculty who teach the CCRG classes.
CCRG began in 2016, and the law requires full statewide implementation to be in place by fall 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first CCRG courses will be taught spring 2021.
